The credit card fee amount must not exceed 3%, and the merchant should not profit from this fee. Additionally, both the credit card fee and the price of the product or service must be processed together as one transaction within their practice management systems. The receipt must clearly show the credit card fee as a separate line item. It's important to note that the merchant must not apply a fee to debit cards.
